Arroyo Valley and Rim of the World are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Fighting Scots at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Arroyo Valley has four straight wins, Rim of the World has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Arroyo Valley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Fontana on Wednesday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Steelers with a sharp 16-9 victory. Considering the Hawks have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Rim of the World didn't have quite enough to beat Fontana on Friday and fell 17-16.

Arroyo Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Rim of the World, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12-1.

Arroyo Valley took their win against Rim of the World in their previous matchup last Friday by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Fighting Scots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
