Baseball Game Preview: Waccamaw Warriors vs. Georgetown Bulldogs

Waccamaw hasn't had much luck against Georgetown recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Waccamaw is taking a road trip to challenge Georgetown at 6:30 p.m. Waccamaw's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Georgetown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Georgetown will be up against a hot Waccamaw team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Waccamaw never let Marlboro County get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Friday.

Diego Patrick tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over 6.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Ty Kerns was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Georgetown won against Dillon on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Georgetown beat Emerald by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Waccamaw's record is now 5-3. As for Georgetown, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Waccamaw came up short against Georgetown in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 5-2. Can Waccamaw avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
