Football Recap: Reading Takes a Loss

Reading's last matchup with Penn Manor could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Red KNights took a blow against the Comets, falling 41-8. The Red KNights have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Randy Guthrie had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 143 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries for Penn Manor. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Guthrie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Collin Robinson, who picked up 66 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Reading's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Penn Manor, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will host Cedar Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red KNights will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Penn Manor, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hempfield at 7:00 p.m.
