Basketball Game Preview: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Reidsville Rams

Having just played yesterday, the Corvian Community Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Reidsville Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Corvian Community sitting on four straight wins and Reidsville on 38 (dating back to last season).

On Friday, Corvian Community didn't have too much trouble with Rosedale Christian Academy as they won 82-64.

Corvian Community found their leader in sophomore RJ Moore Jr., who went 6 of 12 on his way to 22 points. The game was Moore Jr.'s eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Olsen, who made all 5 shots he took to post 10 points.

Corvian Community was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Reidsville rang in the new year with a 61-49 victory over Walkertown on Friday. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Wolfpack are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win got Corvian Community back to even at 4-4. As for Reidsville, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
