Goodrich came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Lapeer Lightning by a score of 5-2.

Brady Bazsler tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, Thomas Niles was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Nate Gould also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Goodrich's record is now 6-1. As for Lapeer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goodrich will head out to face off against Brandon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lapeer, they will venture away from home to square off against Midland at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
