Softball Recap: Branford Buccaneers vs. Suwannee Bulldogs

Branford never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Suwannee on Friday. They blew past the Bulldogs 12-2. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Mallory Blue made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Blue was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jesse Frierson was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cloey Criggall, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Branford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Suwannee only managed six hits.
