Football Recap: Riverheads Starts Season with Win at Home + How To Watch

Riverheads gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys, posting a 49-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Gladiators' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Ospreys are ranked 273rd).

Riverheads will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stuarts Draft at 7:00 p.m. on September 12. As for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
