Football Game Preview: Matawan Regional Huskies vs. Shore Regional Blue Devils

The Matawan Regional Huskies will head out to take on the Shore Regional Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Matawan Regional easily dispatched Long Branch last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Huskies fell just short of Middletown North by a score of 23-21 on Friday. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Shore Regional waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 27-13 win over the Falcons. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by exactly 14 points.

Shore Regional's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Matawan Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Matawan Regional didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Shore Regional in their previous meeting back in October of 2019, but they still walked away with a 10-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
