Basketball Recap: Charter Oak Comes Up Short

Charter Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 94-36 loss at the hands of the Workman Lobos. The match marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Workman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja Rivero, who posted 23 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. Rivero has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jorge Mayoral, who put up 25 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Charter Oak's record is now 2-6. As for Workman, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Charter Oak will take on Santa Fe at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Workman, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Edgewood at 6:30 p.m.
