Basketball Recap: Stuart Takes a Loss

Stuart's last matchup with St. Mary could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Stuart Broncos came up short against the St. Mary's Cardinals, falling 51-30. The Broncos haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Gracie Williamson was her usual excellent self, shooting 67% from the field on her way to 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for St. Mary's. Williamson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Pyper Ickes was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 12 assists.

Stuart's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for St. Mary's, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Stuart nor St. Mary's have any future games scheduled.
