Noe Mendoza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Mendoza was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Mendoza wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Farmer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Farmer also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Hemet made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lakeside on Saturday. Hemet sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over Lakeside. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won three in a row.

Citrus Hill pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hemet, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
