Recap: Murrieta Valley Nighthawks vs. Great Oak Wolfpack
Even though the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks have not done well against the Great Oak Wolfpack recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Murrieta Valley came out on top against Great Oak by a score of 63-54. The victory was familiar territory for Murrieta Valley who now have three in a row.
Leading Murrieta Valley to victory were Shaun Stoll Jr. and Parker Steffen. Stoll Jr. scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Steffen scored 24 points along with three steals. The game was Steffen's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Casillas, who scored seven points.
Murrieta Valley's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. As for Great Oak, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against Murrieta Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Great Oak, they will face off against Vista Murrieta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vista Murrieta is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
