Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Victorious

Calvary Baptist's tournament run continued when they took on Los Amigos on Monday. The Calvary Baptist Cougars slipped by the Los Amigos Lobos 44-43.

Several Lobos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marc Basallo, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and four steals. Those 12 points gave Basallo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Belote, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Calvary Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Los Amigos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Calvary Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-13 win against Crossroads Christian on the 7th. As for Los Amigos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-50 defeat against Bellflower on the 4th.
