Preview: Wayne Valley Indians vs. Mount Olive Marauders

The Wayne Valley Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Mount Olive Marauders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wayne Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, everything went Wayne Valley's way against Nutley as Wayne Valley made off with a 27-7 victory. Given Wayne Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Nutley is ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Brian Blake, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Wayne Valley also got help from Ryan Schmitz who showed off his sure hands for 119 receiving yards.

Mount Olive had a rough season last year, but they looks ready to turn that poor record around this year. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Morris Knolls 29-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Mount Olive, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Adam DeCristofaro was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries.

Their wins bumped Wayne Valley to 4-4 and Mount Olive to 7-1.

Wayne Valley took their win against Mount Olive in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 36-15. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
