Basketball Recap: Middle Park Comes Up Short

Middle Park and Denver Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Middle Park had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Denver Christian Thunder, falling 64-23. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Thunder are ranked 28th).

Despite the defeat, Middle Park had strong showings from Dana Bell, who posted six points and nine boards, and Blaire Hester, who had seven points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Denver Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Bohannon, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 15 points along with five boards and three steals. Anna Everett was another key player, shooting 55% from the field on her way to 16 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Middle Park and nudges their season record down to 12-11. As for Denver Christian, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.

Middle Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denver Christian, they have already played their next game, a 55-52 victory against St. Mary's on the 8th.
