Basketball Recap: Adams Takes a Loss

If Adams was feeling good fresh off their 47-18 takedown of Samuell last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Adams Cougars were beaten by the Poteet Pirates 75-34 on Monday. The Cougars have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Adams still got an impressive performance from Artiss Harris, who posted 15 points. That was a full 44.1% of Adams' points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Linley Davis was another key player, putting up six points.

Adams' defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Poteet, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adams and Wilson will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Poteet, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against West Mesquite at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Poteet's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
