Recap: Jackson Red Devils vs. Upson-Lee Knights
The Jackson Red Devils's game on Wednesday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upson-Lee. Jackson has struggled against Upson-Lee recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Jackson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevan Gray, who scored ten points. Josh Goodrum was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Upson-Lee, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will face off against Peach County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Peach County's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Jackson has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Upson-Lee, they will challenge Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
