League recap: Brea Olinda scores huge upset over El Modena

The biggest upset of the week belonged to El Modena, who took down 299th ranked El Modena, 28-21. Auggie Buoncuore threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 14 yards in the win.

El Dorado moved up to 252 from 314 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Century. The Golden Hawks climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Villa Park 50-34.

The Spartans' dynamic duo of Dylan Osborne and Dustin Harrison proved tough for El Dorado to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Osborne threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns and Harrison had 127 yards receiving. Kyle Gordon helped Villa Park's passing attack out by catching four balls for 65 yards.

Josh Vizcaya was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 147 yards as Brea Olinda defeated Shawn Racobs' team.

Foothill's Jack Gilchrist and Julian Moss have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gilchrist has thrown for 1316 yards this season, while Moss, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 21 catches for 519 yards. Troy Kurtz from Canyon leads the league in rushing with 685 yards.

A big matchup in Century this week will be when the Wildcats take on Dusan Ancich's team. As it stands, Brea Olinda is in fourth, while the Spartans are in first.

Villa Park extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Golden Hawks, 50-34. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
