Recap: Goessel Bluebirds vs. Little River Redskins
The Goessel Bluebirds lost against the Little River Redskins back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Goessel fell to Little River 30-26. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Goessel in their matchups with Little River: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Goessel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noah Schrag. Despite the final result, he threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Andrew Smith was his usual excellent self, rushing for 194 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Smith was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Carter Stansbury also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Goessel's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Little River, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Goessel will head out on the road to face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 372 points over their last seven matchups. As for Little River, they will be playing at home against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
