Softball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Otsego, Notre Dame Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the St. Catherine of Siena Academy Athletes by a score of 10-5. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Jaylynn Baldwin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 12 hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Madi Hager was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hannah Schultz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Notre Dame Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for St. Catherine of Siena Academy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Notre Dame Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Athletes: the pair will be back at it again later today.
