Softball Game Preview: Cresskill Cougars vs. Harrison Blue Tide

The Cresskill Cougars will square off against the Harrison Blue Tide at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cresskill has four straight victories, Harrison has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Saturday, Cresskill was able to grind out a solid win over Hawthorne, taking the game 14-9.

Brianna Depalo was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Angelina Cecere, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Cresskill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .435 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Harrison fell victim to New Milford and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 17-0 to the Knights. Considering the last time the Blue Tide couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Cresskill, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.

Everything went Cresskill's way against Harrison in their previous matchup back in April, as Cresskill made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Blue Tide have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
