Softball Recap: Spencer County Bears vs. Eminence Warriors
Spencer County's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Eminence Warriors as Spencer County made off with a 23-3 win. Considering the Bears have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Addyson Pawul looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaylen Newton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Walker, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Spencer County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .705. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Spencer County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Eminence, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spencer County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Trimble County at 6:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Eminence, they will square off against Walton-Verona at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
