Softball Recap: South Central Comes Up Short

South Central came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Salem Lions by a score of 12-10 on Monday. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 14-5 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Delaney Pennington made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

South Central now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Salem, their record now sits at 3-1.

Coming up, South Central will face off against Perry Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salem, they will square off against Brownstown Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.25 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
