Basketball Recap: Houlton Falls Short of Belfast in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Houlton can now relate to. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belfast Lions on Wednesday. The Shiretowners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Houlton has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Belfast, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8.

Houlton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belfast, they will face off against Caribou at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Caribou's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
