Benton waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Loyola College Prep Prep Flyers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 on Wednesday.

Lucas Cox looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cole Snell was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon McCarthy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Benton's record is now 30-5-2. As for Loyola College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-15.

Benton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loyola College Prep, they will face off against Archbishop Shaw on Wednesday.
