Softball Recap: Hernando Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hernando Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-1 to Lakeside Christian. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Lakeside Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-0 last Tuesday.

Hernando Christian Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte Merenda, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Merenda is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Hernando Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lakeside Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Hernando Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Meadowbrook Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeside Christian, they have already played their next contest, a 12-0 win against Saint Stephen's Episcopal on the 7th.
