Softball Recap: Prairiland Comes Up Short

Prairiland fell victim to Mount Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Mount Vernon Tigers, falling 13-0. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Prairiland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Mount Vernon, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4-1.

Coming up, Prairiland will face off against Rains at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Vernon, they will take on Winnsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Vernon knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Winnsboro likes a good challenge.
