Basketball Recap: Lauren Robinson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead High Point Christian Academy over Asheville Christian Academy

High Point Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 42-29 to the Asheville Christian Academy Lions. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

High Point Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Robinson, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Smith, who put up five points along with five boards and three steals.

Leading Asheville Christian Academy to victory were Sara Larios and Rebekah Bass. Larios had 13 points and four steals, while Bass scored ten points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Larios is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last seven games she's played. Lauren Bass was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

High Point Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Asheville Christian Academy, their record is now 6-8.

High Point Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-38 loss against Greensboro Day School on the 14th. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-47 victory against Carolina Day on the 14th.
