One team took the elevator way up and another took it way down in the power rankings this week. A special shoutout goes to Flathead's senior Jaden Macneil, who scored seven total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
No Stoppin 'Em
Flathead gave both Big Sky and its quarterback (sacked five times) a rough time last week. Flathead breezed past Big Sky with a final score of 56 - 31. The Big Sky defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 37 points per game), and Flathead took advantage of that. The combined 87 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
A
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Fergus (9th in the power rankings) took on Belgrade (18th) last week. Fergus took its game against Belgrade by a confident 43 - 21 score. Fergus saw its record improve to 6-1 and its power rank jump five places as a result.

Helena fell 104 yards shy of Bozeman in their game last week, so the final result shouldn't be a surprise. Helena received a tough blow as it fell 42 - 22 to Bozeman. Helena wasn't expected to pull off the win given its disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, but that is little consolation. The rough outing dragged it down five positions in the power rankings -- the largest fall of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Frenchtown (8th in the power rankings) and Hamilton (2nd). This will be the second home game in a row for Frenchtown. It has never lost back-to-back this season, but Hamilton hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
