Volleyball Recap: Sylmar Takes a Loss

Sylmar had taken Van Nuys down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Sylmar sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-23, 20-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-11.

This is the second loss in a row for Sylmar and nudges their season record down to 16-10. As for Van Nuys, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sylmar will face off against rival San Fernando at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Van Nuys is set to square off against their familiar foe Panorama at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
