Basketball Game Preview: Vinalhaven Vikings vs. Islesboro Central Eagles

Vinalhaven hasn't had much luck against Islesboro Central recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Vinalhaven Vikings will square off against the Islesboro Central Eagles at 10:15 a.m.

On Friday, Vinalhaven was beaten by Valley 64-22. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Cavaliers are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Islesboro Central was able to grind out a solid win over Telstar on Friday, taking the game 29-16.

Vinalhaven's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Islesboro Central, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Vinalhaven came up short against Islesboro Central in their previous matchup back in January, falling 24-15. Can Vinalhaven avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
