Basketball Recap: Weaver Takes a Loss

Weaver saw some tournament action on Sunday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to the Hackley Hornets. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Beavers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 88th in Connecticut, while the Hornets are ranked 261st in New York).

Weaver's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Hackley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Weaver will be playing at home against Civic Leadership at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hackley, they are taking a road trip to take on Collegiate at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
