Baseball Recap: Reading Memorial Victorious

While Reading Memorial put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Lexington. The Rockets came out on top against the Minutemen by a score of 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 back in April.

Lexington's batters probably weren't too happy with Ryan Marino, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 17 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Marino has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Reading Memorial saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Learned, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Jack Chapin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Reading Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Lexington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Reading Memorial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-1 win against Stoneham on the 11th. As for Lexington, they have also already played their next game, a 7-4 defeat against Newton North on the 10th.
