Baseball Recap: California City Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Boron typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday California City proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-1 back in March.

Blake Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Dakoda Kusmit was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

California City's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Boron, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Coming up, California City will head out to face off against Frazier Mountain at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Boron, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kern Valley at 3:15 p.m. on the 29th.
