Softball Game Preview: Tellico Plains Bears vs. Murphy Bulldogs

The Tellico Plains Bears will challenge the Murphy Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tellico Plains can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Monday. They fell just short of Eagleton College & Career Academy by a score of 7-5.

Skyler Day was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Day was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Taylor Rose made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

Even though they lost, Tellico Plains kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eagleton College & Career Academy only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, Murphy never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Polk County 8-0. The Bulldogs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 19, 2024.
