Baseball Recap: Midland Park Extends Winning Streak to Five

Midland Park had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wood-Ridge Blue Devils with a sharp 9-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted against the Blue Devils since April 15, 2017.

Midland Park's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braiden Russell, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Ralph Caprio was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Midland Park's victory bumped their record up to 11-3-1. As for Wood-Ridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Midland Park will venture away from home to face off against St. Mary at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wood-Ridge, they will host North Arlington at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
