Baseball Recap: East Side Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

East Side proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 14) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Golda Och Academy. Winning may never get old, but the Red Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jhoan Ventura was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kelvin Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

East Side's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Golda Och Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Coming up, East Side will square off against Newark Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Golda Och Academy will be paying especially close attention to East Side's contest: after East Side faces off against Newark Tech, they'll take on Golda Och Academy again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
