Halifax County has gone a perfect 10-0 against George Washington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Comets will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Halifax County has seven straight wins, George Washington has 14 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Halifax County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Chatham a 21-0 shutout on Monday. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Logan Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Thomasson was incredible, going 5-for-6 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Jaharie Edmonds was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Halifax County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, George Washington didn't have quite enough to beat Martinsville on Thursday and fell 15-14.
James White made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jackson Dietz, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Halifax County's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for George Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
George Washington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Halifax County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. It's a different story for George Washington, though, as they've only averaged .206. Will they be able to contain Halifax County's hitters?
