Preview: Jackson Generals vs. Northwestern Bulls
The Jackson Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Northwestern Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Jackson humbled Edison with a 73-17 victory.
Jackson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leonard Clark out in front who scored 13 points along with 3 steals. Marioel Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Northwestern at home against Reagan on Tuesday as the team secured a 62-26 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-13.
Northwestern found their leader in underclassman Calvin Russel, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. That makes it two consecutive games in which Russel has scored at least 25% of Northwestern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaisah McKenney, who scored 12 points.
The losses dropped Jackson to 2-1 and Edison to 0-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Jackson and Northwestern are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Jackson hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 64 points per game. However, it's not like Northwestern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 58 per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run up the score up higher Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
Jackson took a serious blow against Northwestern in their previous meeting back in February, falling 74-35. Can Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
