Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Skates Past Fulton Science Academy with Ease

After only 30 points in their last matchup, Pinecrest Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Fulton Science Academy on Saturday. The Pinecrest Academy Paladins blew past the Fulton Science Academy Mustangs 59-23. The Paladins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 27 points or more this season.

Pinecrest Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joe Frain led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Frain is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Lynch, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points.

Pinecrest Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fulton Science Academy only racked up six assists.

Fulton Science Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luca Arasi, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Boomer Vowels, who had ten points and three steals.

Pinecrest Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Fulton Science Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Pinecrest Academy and Excel Christian Academy will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Fulton Science Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on The Stonehaven School at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
