Basketball Recap: Macks Creek Skates Past Leeton with Ease

Macks Creek won the last time they faced Leeton and things went their way on Friday too. The Macks Creek Pirates blew past the Leeton Bulldogs 68-22. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Macks Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but India Willis led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine assists. Willis has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 21 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Duggan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists.

Willis wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Macks Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Macks Creek pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Leeton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Macks Creek will challenge Walnut Grove at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Leeton, they will square off against Montrose at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
