Softball Game Recap: Ridge Red Devil vs. Hunterdon Central Red Devils

Ridge extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 9-11. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Hunterdon Central Red Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Red Devil were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Hunterdon Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-14. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Hunterdon Central's part, the team relied heavily on Cam Tucker, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Tucker a new career-high.

Ridge and Hunterdon Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Red Devil (ranked 116th) will meet Caldwell (ranked 19th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hunterdon Central will face off against Ramsey at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (72 vs. 16).
