Sehome is 6-1 against Lakewood since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mariners will welcome the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Sehome barely beat Mt. Baker the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mariners blew past the Mountaineers 10-1 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Mariners as they're now sitting on three straight.

Tyson Goodman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Sehome hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lakewood hadn't done well against Sedro-Woolley recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Cubs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Tejay Hoiland looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Lakewood is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-11 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Egger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lakewood's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 3-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Aiden Jones, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
The victory got Sehome back to even at 9-9. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Sehome's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. The Mariners have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lakewood, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Sehome continue to outrun the ball?
Sehome took their victory against Lakewood in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-8 score. Do the Mariners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
