Softball Recap: Stoughton Takes a Loss

If Stoughton was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Sauk Prairie on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Reedsburg Beavers on Thursday, falling 13-1. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beavers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Stoughton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madyson Verville, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Stoughton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Reedsburg, their record is now 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stoughton will challenge McFarland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reedsburg, they will be taking part in a tournament against Monroe at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
