Softball Game Preview: Campbell County Camels vs. Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts

The Campbell County Camels will square off against the Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lloyd Memorial took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Campbell County, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Campbell County made easy work of Walton-Verona and carried off a 21-1 win. The Camels have beaten the Bearcats the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bearcats has come to flipping the script.

Samantha Perry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Josie Feebeck was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Campbell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walton-Verona only posted an OBP of .429.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lloyd Memorial's offense. They came up short against Ryle on Wednesday, falling 14-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Juggernauts' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lloyd Memorial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla Laudick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Laudick has posted since back in April of 2024.

Campbell County's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lloyd Memorial, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.
