Central Valley hasn't had much luck against Lathrop recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks will square off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Central Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Central Valley had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 24-point drubbing they dealt Johansen on Wednesday. The Hawks' defense stepped up to hand the Vikings a 24-0 shutout. The Hawks not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 8th (when they won 32-0).
The critical scores for Central Valley came from Ruby Medina, Ayleen Apreza, Jazmin Carmona, and Mia Muniz.

Central Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Apreza, Damaris Cisneros, and Airieana Martinez picked up one apiece. Martinez is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she's now defended at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Lathrop got the win against Livingston on Wednesday by a conclusive 26-0. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Lathrop's win came from a few key players Central Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Luz De Luna, who threw for 183 yards and three TDs. JaLeiyah Ray helped De Luna out on the ground, picking up 36 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lathrop's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Faith Butler.
Central Valley's record is now 14-7. As for Lathrop, their record now sits at 15-3.
Central Valley was dealt a bruising 46-0 defeat at the hands of Lathrop when the teams last played back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of De Luna, who threw for 154 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground.
