Volleyball Recap: Chadron's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Chadron was the 3-1 winner over Rapid City Christian when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell just short of the Comets by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Cardinals' undefeated start to the season.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Chadron sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 18-25, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Paige Slingsby and Jezy Alcorn, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Jenny Pinnt and her 27 assists. Alcorn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Chadron fell to 4-1. As for Rapid City Christian, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chadron will host Gordon-Rushville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rapid City Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rapid City Central at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
