Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers

Roosevelt is on a three-game streak of home losses, Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Roosevelt Roughriders will welcome the Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Roosevelt will be strutting in after a win while Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering will be coming in after a defeat.

Roosevelt is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Dunbar, who was ranked ninth at the time (Roosevelt was ranked tenth). Roosevelt snuck past Dunbar with a 34-28 victory on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Roughriders as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by McKinley Tech and fell 51-14. The Panthers were down 39-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Roosevelt now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Roosevelt came out on top in a nail-biter against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 2-0.
