Recap: Richard Montgomery Rockets vs. Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles
The Richard Montgomery Rockets pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-65 to Seneca Valley. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Richard Montgomery came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Seneca Valley is ranked 219th).
Korey Trone was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten assists for Seneca Valley. That's the first time this season that Trone posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Sowell, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Richard Montgomery's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Seneca Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.
Richard Montgomery will take on Wheaton at TBD on Friday. Wheaton is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Seneca Valley, Seneca Valley and Magruder will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Magruder has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three games.
