            Baseball Recap: Preston Knights vs. University Hawks        
        
		
        
        
            Preston extended their losing streak  to three  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 8-11-1 in the process. They came up short against  the University Hawks, falling  10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  defeat the Knights have suffered  since March 28th.
As for University, they pushed their record up to 17-13 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  at home. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the  contest before.
For University's part,  James Bryner tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Bryner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Brance McCune and  Baret Shuba did most of the damage at the plate:  McCune  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI, while  Shuba  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  double. McCune has become a key player for University: the team is 8-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 9-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brock Shuba, who  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run.
 Preston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  match,  a  3-0  loss against Morgantown on the 16th.
